ROCKLAND, Maine

(NEWS CENTER) - Rockland Police tells NEWS CENTER one man is dead and another in custody after pedestrian crash in Rockland Friday night.

Police say 35-year-old Daniel Cormier of Rockland and Owls Head was walking near the Pizza Hut on Camden Street when he was struck and killed.

Rockland officials allege 40-year-old Jeremy S. Stone of Rockport struck Cormier with his vehicle. Police say Stone is currently in the Knox County Jail on felony operating under the influence, felony leaving the scene of an accident involving death and two outstanding warrants from Waldo County.

Police say the crash occurred at approximately 5:30p.m. Friday night. Police seized multiple pieces of evidence. Maine State Police also assisted at the scene.
