First Grade Friends Assist Coats for Kids

Imagine this:
It is 10:30 at Boothbay Region Elementary, and 42 first grade children are racing to get their coats and lunchboxes, as it is now recess and lunchtime at BRES!
Oh no! Ten children have discovered their winter coats are missing. It is hardly above 30 degrees outside, without a coat there will be no recess for these first graders!
This was the scenario as the Coats For Kids campaign unfolded in our classrooms, the coats having been secretly removed. A dialogue was created amongst the students and teachers regarding the importance of appropriate outerwear in winter. Many expressions of concern followed, for not only those whose coats were missing, but also for others who may not have a winter jacket.
