GEORGETOWN, Maine -- Georgetown Central School recently held a Wellness Night for staff, students, and families to celebrate their involvement with the 5-2-1-0 program. The evening event was planned by the enthusiastic Wellness Team at the school. Participants were invited to try a number of physical activities, including zumba, yoga, balance balls, and dance. A delicious and healthy roasted vegetable and quinoa salad was prepared by school Food Service Director Catherine Wuenschel.
5-2-1-0 is a healthy lifestyle program in partnership with Mid Coast Hospital and Let’s Go! “Five” represents the recommended number of fruits and vegetables each day. “Two” represents the maximum recommended amount of recreational screen time. “One” stands for the number of hours of physical activity recommended each day. “Zero” represents the recommended amount of sugar sweetened drinks each day – more water and low fat milk.
