Auditions for It's a Wonderful Life

Auditions for It's a Wonderful Life, produced by Studio Theatre of Bath, will be held this coming Monday and Tuesday, October 18 and 19 at 7PM in the Curtis Room of the Chocolate Church.

The stage play is based on the classic film by Frank Capra.   In our American culture It's a Wonderful Life has become almost as familiar as Dickens' A Christmas Carol. It is the saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been quashed by family obligation and civic duty, whose guardian angel has to descent on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and to remind him (by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born) that his has been, after all, a wonderful life. This faithful adaptation has all your favorite characters: George and Mary Hatch, Clarence, Uncle Billy, Violet, and, of course, the Scrooge-like villain, Mr. Potter.

Babette’s Feast at Dreamland Theater

Dreamland Theater's second season continues on October 14th at 7pm, with the showing of Babette’s Feast. In 19th century Denmark, two adult sisters live in a small village with their father, the pastor of a small Protestant church. Although each have a real opportunity to leave the village, the sisters choose to stay to care for him and serve their church.
After several years, a French woman refugee, Babette arrives at their door, and what then unfolds is a sumptuous feast for the eyes and the palate.

October at Dreamland Theater is sponsored by The Hampton Inn and Now You’re Cooking.
